Hirado Wagyu
"A phantom wagyu" that hardly circulates outside the prefecture.
Cattle in Hirado, raised in the beautiful sea and nature, are said to have a sweet and tender meat texture because the grazing grass is exposed to sea breeze and gives minerals. The marbling is fine and the balance between red meat and fat is just right, so it can be enjoyed deliciously with any dish such as yakiniku or steak. Hirado Champon
Plenty of vegetables and soup made from flying fish broth.
One of the three major champon dishes in Japan, along with Nagasaki Champon and Obama Champon. By combining ingredients such as seafood and vegetables with chewy champon noodles and flying fish broth soup, it has a light and mellow yet deep flavor. The taste of the broth is clearer than the other two, so please try comparing them.
Hirado Hirame
Thick and crunchy texture.
Hirado city boasts one of the largest catches of flounder in Japan. Not only in quantity, but also in size, sometimes flounders as big as zabuton (Japanese cushion) are caught! In local restaurants, you can enjoy thick and fatty sashimi or have it as a light ochazuke. The best season to eat flounder is from January to March!
Fan Shrimp
Sweet shrimp with a firm texture.
It is called "Fan Shrimp" because of its flat, fan-like appearance, and its taste is said to be comparable to that of Ise Ebi (spiny lobster). Its firm, chewy texture and rich sweetness and flavor are characteristic. Not only the meat, but also the rich miso soup is so delicious that you want to savor it on your tongue.
