The "Takechiyo Handwriting Room" at the East Gate of Sunpu Castle is where a young Ieyasu learned calligraphy and etiquette. This room, where it is said that he received teachings from Taiyuansetsusai, has been recreated with exquisite craftsmanship in the form of intricate lattice work and ceiling paintings. There is also a museum featuring a statue of Ieyasu in his later years and other materials. This spot is a must-visit for history buffs and definitely worth a visit!
