In 1911, a hot spring source with high temperature was found in a rice field, which became the beginning of Tendo Onsen. Tendo Onsen is located almost in the center of Yamagata Prefecture, and has developed as a base for accommodation when visiting tourist spots in the prefecture due to its convenient transportation access. Various accommodation facilities, from modern hotels to traditional Japanese-style inns, are scattered throughout the area, catering to a diverse range of accommodation styles. There are many attractions around Tendo Onsen, such as the Hiroshige Museum, and it is bustling as a relay point for sightseeing in Yamagata Prefecture. Access in 15 Minutes on Foot from JR Tendo Station!
When using public transportation to access Tendo Onsen, it's about a 5-minute drive or a 15-minute walk from JR Tendo Station. Taking a taxi from Tendo Station can provide even more convenient access. If using a private car, it's about 8km from the Yamagata Kita IC on the Yamagata Expressway, via National Route 13. Parking is available around Tendo Onsen, making it easy to travel by car. Access to Tendo Onsen is relatively easy and can be used without being restricted by transportation means.
