Highlights

Point 1

Experience the Feeling of Traveling Abroad by Viewing Famous Paintings from Around the World

Otsuka International Museum of Art Experience the Feeling of Traveling Abroad by Viewing Famous Paintings from Around the World
At the Otsuka Museum of Art, approximately 1,000 works of art from over 190 museums in 26 countries are on display as full-size replicas of the original pieces. You can experience the feeling of visiting art museums from around the world without leaving Japan, with works such as the "Mona Lisa" from France, "The Birth of Venus" and "The Last Supper" from Italy, and "Guernica" from Spain. Why not take a look at the works from various countries and feel like you're on a trip abroad?
Point 2

Enjoy not only the artwork, but also the space itself

Otsuka International Museum of Art Enjoy not only the artwork, but also the space itself
This art museum features "environmental exhibits" that not only display paintings, but also recreate the surrounding space. Of particular note are the spaces that reproduce the Vatican City's "Sistine Chapel" and Italy's "Scrovegni Chapel". The Sistine Chapel (Hall) is a place where the singer Kenshi Yonezu performed at the Kohaku Uta Gassen, so many people may have seen it before. The scale is the same, and it is finely reproduced, so you will be overwhelmed.
Point 3

Touch the Artwork at the Museum

At the Otsuka International Museum, you can actually touch famous paintings, which is usually not allowed in typical art museums! The exhibited works are made of non-degrading ceramic tiles, allowing you to experience the brushstrokes and texture of the paint. Additionally, you can take photos with the artwork, so why not take a shot with your favorite piece or one that catches your eye?
Point 4

See Works that No Longer Exist!

At the Otsuka Museum of Art, you can see replicas of works that no longer exist today. For example, even works that have been lost, such as Van Gogh's "Sunflowers," can be seen. Among them, I highly recommend seeing Leonardo da Vinci's "The Last Supper." This work can be viewed with the restored and unrestored versions facing each other, so please compare and see for yourself.
Point 5

Take a Break at a Cafe Offering Local Specialties When You're Tired

Restaurants and cafes are located within the art museum, making it the perfect place to take a break when you're tired from walking around. Highly recommended is the "Cafe de Giverny" on the basement 2nd floor. You can enjoy your meal while overlooking Monet's pond, but the menu is also worth noting. Limited-time menus inspired by the museum's artwork are available, so why not visit and take a break while trying them out?
Point 6

Purchase Souvenirs at the Museum Shop

On the third basement floor, you'll find the museum shop, which sells original art goods and sweets inspired by famous paintings that can only be found here. You can enjoy just looking at the cookies in cans with Van Gogh's works or sweets that collaborate "Mamma Rosa" and "The Milkmaid," a famous confectionery from Tokushima. Be sure to stop by for souvenirs.

You can also shop at the museum shop or take a break at the café, so art lovers can enjoy a whole day there!
