The former residence of Minamoto Genpo, located in Tsuyama City, was the birthplace of the scholar who spent his first 13 years there during the end of the Tokugawa Shogunate. The main house, annex, courtyard, well, and other townhouses of the time have been faithfully restored, and it is visited by many tourists as a national historic site. He was also active as a Dutch scholar and doctor, leaving behind many great achievements such as translating a letter from the American president.
