The souvenir section inside nicoe is where Shunkado, famous for its eel pies, is putting its efforts into as its flagship shop. In fact, Shunkado's charm extends beyond eel pies, boasting a wide lineup that includes seasonal Western-style confectionery made with fresh fruit and high-quality Japanese confectionery used in tea ceremonies. There is also a live kitchen where you can enjoy watching the production of whole cakes and demonstrations of dorayaki up close.

You can learn about the combination of the five grains and fermentation, which Japanese people have cherished since ancient times, and purchase five-grain rice crackers called "Yamamusubi." In addition, there is a resting area where you can enjoy freshly baked Kodama dango and limited-time fresh sweets made from seasonal ingredients.

This popular area allows you to learn how to make chocolate in ways you may not have known before, and even experience making Bean to Bar craft chocolate, which originated in New York. The experience is divided into three courses: one for children, one for adults, and one for parents and children, and is held twice a day, in the morning and afternoon. The experience takes about 2 hours plus preparation time, so it's recommended to plan your trip with plenty of time if you want to participate. Also, please note that reservations are required!

Use a Bus or Your Own Car
We recommend using a bus or your own car to access Nicoe. From Hamakita Station on the Enshu Railway, it's recommended to take the Hamakita Community Bus and get off at the "Nicoe" bus stop. From Hamamatsu Station, taking the Entetsu Bus and getting off at the "Nicoe/Harukadou Hamakita Factory" bus stop is recommended. However, as they don't operate every day, it's essential to check the timetable in advance. If you want to take your time sightseeing without worrying about bus departure times, let's go to Nicoe by your own car!

During busy periods such as Golden Week and summer vacation, the parking lot may fill up, so be sure to follow the instructions of the staff and avoid parking in nearby lots without permission.
