27-meter-tall lantern, the tallest in Japan
This lantern stands next to the Kotohira-Konpira Station. It was once designed to provide light to ships in the Marugame area. It was also an important landmark for people walking towards Konpira-san. The walls still bear graffiti from people during the Edo period.
