It takes 5 minutes to reach the top and operates every 15 minutes. From the top of the ropeway, you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of Akagi Mountain and Mt. The Shrine Protecting Ikaho Onsen!

Ikaho Shrine is a shrine that protects Ikaho Onsen. It is a Shinto shrine with a former prefectural and village shrine status, and is considered one of the three shrines in Ueno Province. Originally, it was a shrine that worshipped Mizusawa Mountain, and in the 6th year of the Jōwa era (839), it was ranked as a junior fifth rank, lower grade, in the 4th year of the Genkei era (880), and in the 3rd year of the Chōgen era (1030), it was promoted to the rank of senior first rank, eventually becoming one of the three shrines in Ueno Province. It now stands on the stone steps of the town and is visited by many tourists. It is revered as a symbol of Ikaho Onsen and is loved as one of the three shrines in Ueno Province along with Nukamae Shrine in Tomioka City and Akagi Shrine in Mount Akagi. You can climb the charming stone steps and visit the important cultural property main shrine and branch shrines. In addition, the shrine's stamp is a stylish patch and is famous as a collector's item loved by fans. Why not stop by when traveling to Ikaho Onsen?

家族が温泉に入っている空き時間を利用して参拝してきました。石段を登り切ると、さも霊験あらたかな気がします。年明けに心不全で歩けない事もありましたが、そんなにきつい感じはしなかったです。当日は霧雨で、神秘的な雰囲気でした。 2024.10.6

石段街を登って行くと一番上に鎮座しています。365段を一気に行くと辛いので途中でお店に寄り道しながら行きましょう😄たまに後ろを振り返ると眺めが良いですよ。平日に参拝したので社務所は開いていませんでした。御朱印は土日だけ授与されるみたいですね。今回はちょっと離れた所にある渋川八幡宮で書き置きをいただきました。

こちらの神社は龍神様と聞いてお参りしました。階段が365段あり途中まで車で行き途中から階段を登りました。下から登ると途中でバテてしまいますね。意外とこじんまりした神社なので一巡りが早いです。神社が高い位置にあるため空気が澄んでいて気持ちいいですね。山々の景色も楽しめます。
