Shiozuka Kogen Experience the Spring Tradition of Controlled Burning
Every year from late March to early April, about 20 hectares out of the approximately 100 hectares of the Shiozuka Plateau are dynamically burned. This controlled burning is done to protect the landscape and preserve high-quality hay fertilizer, and local firefighters are on hand to prevent it from turning into a wildfire. The sight of the vast grasslands turning orange is truly breathtaking, so if you have the chance to visit during this time, be sure to check it out!
