Selected as one of Japan's top 100 waterfalls

A waterfall located upstream of the Kaifu River. The main waterfall has an impressive drop of 58 meters, boasting the largest drop in Tokushima Prefecture. You can feel the powerful water flow. In addition, there are also double waterfalls and Yokomi Falls upstream, and the variety of waterfalls, both big and small, is also attractive.

Point 1

Enjoy the 58m Drop of Todorimoto Waterfall

"Todorimoto Waterfall" is a waterfall that serves as the object of worship at Todorimoto Taki Shrine. While you can get close to the basin of the waterfall, it's been made so that you can't get too close, and it's said that the god resides in a place that's out of reach. When you stand in front of it, you'll feel as if you're facing the waterfall directly, making it a mysterious waterfall that allows you to feel the faith that people have in it.

Take a Walk to the Headwaters of Nabewari Falls

"Nabewari Falls" is the last waterfall you can see when walking along the promenade. It hangs over the headwaters of the Gōjūkyū Falls, and you can see a magnificent 15-meter waterfall. It takes about an hour to walk one way to Nabewari Falls on the promenade, which may feel a little far, but you can enjoy the walk while seeing many different types of waterfalls on the way to Nabewari Falls, so it's quite enjoyable.

Relax by Walking the Promenade

At Todoroki Kujukuri Falls, there is a 1.5 km promenade along the side of the falls. It takes about two hours to walk while strolling, but you can enjoy the magnificent nature and impressive falls! It's especially recommended for those who are tired of the hustle and bustle of the city, as you can absorb a lot of negative ions. The promenade can be slippery, so please wear comfortable shoes.

Visit Todoroki Shrine

Todoroki Shrine is a magnificent shrine located near Todoroki Falls. It has been deeply revered by people who have a strong connection with water, as it enshrines the god of water. However, it is also revered as a god of various things, such as household safety, good health, traffic safety, academics, agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and commerce, so anyone can visit. Why not visit Todoroki Falls and the shrine together while you're at it?

Festivals are Held in Summer and Autumn

At Todoroki Falls, festivals are held in summer and autumn. The "Todoroki Summer Festival" is held annually in July, where local men carry the Mikoshi of Ryuohji Temple and enter into the cold water. The "Todoroki Autumn Festival" is held in November and follows the same format as the summer festival, but with even colder water. The men participating in the festival are brave and watching them can make you feel divine!

Parking

Parking for 3-4 Cars Available

There is a parking lot near Todoroki Falls that can accommodate around 3-4 cars. Follow the signs for Todoroki Falls and you will find it. The parking area is not clearly marked with lines, but rather is a wide open space along the road, so be sure to park in a way that makes it easy for others who arrive later to park as well! There is also a parking lot at the nearby Todoroki Shrine, so it's worth visiting both the shrine and the falls while you're there.

Access

Access is Difficult Without a Car

Todoroki Falls is located in Kaiyo-cho, Tokushima Prefecture, and is quite a distance from Tokushima IC, taking about 3 hours by car. You can also take the JR Mugi Line to "Awa-Kainan Station," then take the municipal bus "Todoroki Shrine" and walk for 10 minutes, but there are few buses and it takes time, so it's recommended to access by car. Please be careful when driving as the roads around the area are narrow.

轟神社から徒歩5分にある滝夏でも涼しく気持ちよく海陽町から１時間かかりますが来てよかった滝です。

細い道をひたすら走って、駐車場から１５分位で、本滝です。雨上がりだったので大迫力でした。一見の価値あり。時間と体力のある方は、沢山滝があるので散策できます。

穴吹から492号線~439号線、神山から193号線を通り、神山の岳人の森で昼食それから、大轟の滝〜轟の滝に行きました。道は険しいしくて狭かった
