Sun Beach Museum is the only museum of its kind in Kushimoto. Various art pieces are displayed using the beautiful sandy beach. The contrast between the changing sandy beach, depending on the season and weather, and the beauty of the sea and sky in the background is stunning. In addition, sculptures and installations are displayed on the large grounds facing the coastline, making it a unique museum where nature and art are fused together. Admission is free and the museum is open year-round. There are also campsites, BBQ areas, and beaches in the surrounding area, making it a recommended spot for families and friends to enjoy together.

The Sun Beach Art Museum is located about a 10-minute drive from the Ashizuri Cape Lighthouse. Inside the museum, contemporary art works, sculptures, photographs, and more are on display, allowing you to appreciate art against the backdrop of the beauty of the sea and sky. Outside the museum, there is a large area facing the coastline where sculptures and installations are also exhibited. If you visit during the beautiful sunset hours, you can enjoy an even more beautiful view. Admission is 500 yen for adults and free for high school students and younger, and the museum is open from 9am to 5pm. There are also other tourist spots in the area, such as the Ashizuri Cape Lighthouse and Ashizuri Cape Park.

The area surrounding the Sand Museum is rich in natural landscapes such as the sea and mountains. There are spots overflowing with magnificent nature such as the Shimanto River, Ashizuri Cape, and Muroto Cape. You can also visit places related to famous people, such as Katsura Beach. There are also many restaurants and souvenir shops around the museum. In particular, we recommend restaurants where you can enjoy dishes made with fresh seafood. Access to Sun Beach Museum is convenient by car. There is a parking lot, so traveling by car is recommended. If you use the train, you can take a taxi from the nearest station. It's about a 15-minute walk from Ashizuri Misaki Station on the JR Tosa Kuroshio Railway Ashizuri Cape Line.
