Kotohira Shrine

Kotohira-gu Shrine is located on Mt. Zozu in the town of Kotohira, Kagawa Prefecture. Its magnificent main shrine is the head shrine of all Kotohira shrines in Japan and is worshipped as a god of maritime protection, agriculture, industry, and medicine. After climbing the 785 stone steps, you will reach the beautiful main shrine adorned with stunning wall paintings and lacquer work, from which you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Sanuki Plain and Mt.
