Kotohira Shrine

The long staircase of 785 steps leading from the entrance of the approach to the main shrine is famous. Souvenir shops and udon noodle restaurants line both sides of the approach, and there are many attractions in the surrounding area, such as the former Kanamaru-za theater and tall lanterns. The area is full of things to see and do.
