Yubira Onsen is a hot spring town located in a valley surrounded by nature at an altitude of 600 meters. Yubira Onsen has various types of hot springs, including communal baths and indoor baths at inns. The communal baths are free to use and five of them are particularly famous. "Kin no Yu" has the longest history among all the hot springs in Yubira Onsen, and you can enjoy hot spring water flowing directly from the source. "Naka no Yu" has an open-air bath where you can bathe while enjoying the view of the river and mountains. "Sunayu" gets its name from the fact that hot spring water springs up from the sandy riverbed. Moreover, "Gin no Yu" was named after the white crystalline substance resembling silver powder mixed in the water. "Hashimoto Onsen" is the largest communal bath and has two baths, one with lukewarm water and the other with hot water. Although each hot spring has different effects, there is no doubt that all of them will heal both your mind and body!

The cuisine at Yufudake Onsen features a banquet-style meal that abundantly uses fresh, local ingredients. The delicate and beautiful dishes that change with the seasons use ingredients unique to the region blessed with rich nature, and are not only pleasing to the eye but also to the palate. In particular, the chicken dishes using "Oita Crown Chicken" are famous, with thick meat and rich flavor, allowing you to enjoy the skills of each inn's chef in preparing local chicken dishes. Yunotsubo Street, located about a 25-minute drive from Yufuin Onsen, is a road that was opened during the Edo period and continues to Yufuin Onsen. Kinrinko Lake is a mystical lake surrounded by lush mountains. The lake is relatively warm due to the hot springs that flow into it, and in winter, you can see a mystical scene of mist rising from the lake. Yubira Onsen and Kinrinko Lake are located about a 25-minute drive away from each other, so you can enjoy both nature and hot springs by visiting both spots!
