The Hara Castle Ruins in Minamishimabara City are perfect for experiencing the rich history of castle ruins. Built as the residence of the Christian feudal lord Arima, this site became the main battlefield of the Shimabara-Amakusa Rebellion, and artifacts such as religious objects and semi-underground dwellings have been excavated from here. It was also the stage of the siege battle where Amakusa Shirō led 37,000 people. Enjoy a journey through history while visiting the main gate and the statue of Amakusa Shirō.
