Highlights

Point 1

A Building Formerly Used as a Post Office

KITTE A Building Formerly Used as a Post Office
While retaining the remnants of the former Tokyo Central Post Office, which was built in the 1930s, KITTE has been reborn as a modern complex facility with designs of Showa modernism seen in some places. The director's room on the fourth floor uses materials from that time, such as the floor and glass windows, and some parts have been reproduced. This room has a nostalgic atmosphere and is equipped with a desk and chair, still functioning as a space where you can write a letter while thinking of someone. Why not try writing a letter to someone special when visiting for shopping or sightseeing?
Point 2

Enjoy Specialty Flavors at the Restaurant Floor

KITTE Enjoy Specialty Flavors at the Restaurant Floor
On the 5th and 6th floors of the building, there are 15 restaurants where you can experience a variety of foods, including dishes that make use of specialty ingredients from all over Japan. Most of the restaurants are open from lunchtime to dinner, so you can stop by anytime. From casual dining to bars, there is something for every occasion. On the 6th floor, Arcana Tokyo offers gentle French cuisine recommended for health-conscious people. One of their specialties is using freshly harvested vegetables from Miura Peninsula, which are delivered on the same day.
Point 3

Hidden View Spot in Marunouchi

KITTE Hidden View Spot in Marunouchi
Located on the 6th floor, KITTE Garden is an observation spot surrounded by lush greenery, offering a panoramic view of the area around Tokyo Station. It's an urban oasis where you can enjoy different views depending on the time of day, from daytime to night views. The site covers an area of about 1,500 square meters and has relaxing lawns and benches, making it a recommended spot to spend a leisurely time after shopping or dining. Admission is free, and the opening hours are from 11:00 to 23:00 (11:00 to 22:00 on Sundays and holidays).
Point 4

Local Flavors from Across Japan Gathered Together!

KITTE Local Flavors from Across Japan Gathered Together!
The KITTE Granche on the basement floor is a market floor that gathers famous local foods from all over Japan. From popular shops in Okinawa in the south to hidden gems known only to a select few in Akita in the north, there is a wide variety of options. The Tokyo Karaage Bar is particularly popular, serving karaage (Japanese fried chicken) that is marinated in handmade soy sauce from Tokyo. The prices are also reasonable, making it a great place to stop by casually while shopping.
Point 5

An Impressive Museum

On the third floor, there is the JR Tower Academic Cultural Comprehensive Museum Intermediatheque, which is free to enter. This museum mainly exhibits academic specimens stored by the University of Tokyo, as well as various special exhibitions. The exhibition space has a retro-modern atmosphere, reminiscent of a laboratory from the early Showa period, making you feel as if you've slipped back in time. With plenty of impressive exhibits such as animal specimens and taxidermy, it's recommended for families with children as admission is free.
