Free Footbath Next to Yubatake

"Netuno-yu" next to the famous Kusatsu Onsen "Yubatake" is a free footbath that uses the source of Kusatsu Onsen as it is. It is open 24 hours a day and can be used anytime. History

Traditional Bathing Techniques and the Breath of History

Kusatsu Onsen has traditional bathing techniques. In the "Dento-yu" group bathing method, after "Yumomi" (a technique of stirring the hot water with wooden paddles), everyone enters the bath at the command of the "Yunaga" (the bath master), and after soaking for three minutes, everyone gets out at the same time. "Yumomi" is a technique of using wooden paddles to lower the water temperature. The water at Kusatsu Onsen is extremely hot and cannot be used as is. However, "Yumomi" can lower the temperature to a suitable level. "Yumomi" also softens the water and is effective as a preparation exercise before bathing. These traditional bathing techniques are a valuable experience where you can feel the history and culture of Kusatsu Onsen.

Access to Atsunoyu is very convenient. It's just a 5-minute walk from Kusatsu Onsen Bus Terminal. Even if you use the Yubatake Tourist Parking Lot or Nishi-no-Kawara Park Parking Lot, you can reach Atsunoyu in just a short walk. In addition, there are many transportation options around Kusatsu Onsen, including convenient buses and taxis. Atsunoyu is located in a place blessed with natural surroundings, while also being easily accessible. Enjoy Fun Performances 6 Times a Day with a Coupon!

At Atsuno-yu, we are open every day throughout the year, so you can visit us anytime with ease. Performances are held six times a day, with three in the morning and three in the afternoon. The morning performances start at 9:30, 10:00, and 10:30, while the afternoon performances start at 3:30, 4:00, and 4:30. However, there may be temporary closures due to maintenance or events, so we recommend contacting us in advance. The admission fee is 700 yen (tax included) for adults and 350 yen (tax included) for elementary school students. Additionally, the official website offers a coupon for adults to purchase tickets at a discounted price of 650 yen. 日本を代表する名湯「草津温泉」には、江戸時代から続く「湯もみ」という文化があります。源泉は50°C～90°C近いものが多く、入浴できる温度まで下げる必要があります。一回700円 1階と2階があります。とても楽しめる伝統ですね。お昼近くになると並びます。一番早い回がオススメ。

通常は土日祝のみ営業しているそうです。熱気があってみているだけで汗が出てきます。恒例の草津良いとこ、一度はおいで〜。だけかと思ったら違う歌に合わせてバシャバシャと。湯もみ体験もできるので、草津に行ったらぜひ訪ねるといいです。

草津に来たなら一度は行っておきたいのが『熱乃湯の湯揉みショー』。大抵の人に草津に行ったと話すと、『草津ってコレでしょ？！』と言いながら湯揉みのゼスチャーをされることが多く、観なかったと話すと場が白けてしまいますよ(笑)。入場料は¥700ですが、ネットで『湯揉みショー　割引』で検索すると50円引のクーポンが手に入ります。泊まりで行くなら9:30の公演が比較的すいててお薦めです。 15:30の公演は午後に草津に到着した人達が殺到して長蛇の列が出来てました。入場券は事前購入が出来ず、その回ごとの販売のため、事前購入は出来ません。 30分前から販売が開始されますので、それまでには並んでおくのが無難です。定員200名のため、チケットが売り切れる可能性があります。館内の席は1階と2階がありますが、夏の時期なら１階がおすすめです。館内は冷房が無く、湯気がこもるので2階は暑そうでした。動画をスマホで撮影している人が多くいましたが、やはり画面越しではなく、自分の目に焼き付けておいたほうが楽しめます。動画はyoutubeにいくらでも転がっているので。湯揉みガールズについては、大きな声では言えませんが、マスコットキャラクターの湯揉みチャンに近い年齢のガールはレアかもしれません。(自分が行った時は一人だけいました！)※あくまでも、個人的な感想です(笑) ショーの内容にはあまり期待しすぎず、初めて草津に来た証として参加するイベント程度と考えましょう。個人的には2回は観ないかな。ただ、一度は観る価値があると思います。
