Koyasan, Kudoyama
Koyasan is an area where mountains with an altitude of around 1,000m are connected. Before the Meiji era, the entire Koyasan was called Kongobuji Temple, the head temple of Shingon Buddhism, and was also known as the sky city opened by Kukai. It is a holy place in Japanese Buddhism, with many worshippers, second only to Mount Hiei. There are 117 temples on the premises, all of which have a long history and can be felt through their historical significance.
