The "Brave and Daring O-Hashiri Festival" at Yabu Shrine is a traditional event where participants carry a shrine weighing approximately 150kg and parade for 20km. One of the highlights is when participants wade through the Oya River, with the water reaching up to their necks. This famous event, which heralds the arrival of spring, is loved not only by locals but also by many tourists who are amazed by this spectacular sight. You will be sure to be moved by the bravery and daringness of this festival!

Yabu Shrine is a historic grand shrine that has long been revered as a god of agriculture. The beautifully maintained grounds and the forest that shines with fresh greenery and autumn leaves captivate visitors. One of the highlights is the stone lantern donated on the festival day that marked the beginning of the cattle market. The historic buildings, such as the main hall, worship hall, and stone pagoda built in the late Edo period, are also abundant, and the shrine is affectionately called "Myojin-san of Yabu" by the locals.

The grounds of Yabu Shrine offer a tranquil and refreshing view. After climbing the stone steps and passing the hand-washing basin, you'll come across the torii gate and the approach will turn 90 degrees to the right.
