登山口駐車場は5~7台位停められそうです(無料)。飼料を作る工場が入口隣にあるため、入口付近のみ匂いがキツイです。 竹林がある歩道をしばらくと、旧登山道の看板があり、備え付けのトラロープで斜面を上がり山道へ。そこから15~20分ほどで山頂到着。見晴らしの良い山頂でした。

日の出と日の入が見たいと思って登りました。 登山道は整備されていて赤松城跡碑迄はすんなりと歩けました。 所々、街灯があり暗くても安心感がありましたが、念のためライトは持っていきましょう 山頂から絶景!明石海峡大橋や淡路島まで見える、日の出を堪能 山頂より少し下った大手門跡あたりにあるパラグライダー場? 遮るものがなく絶景!日の入を堪能! 本当は‥日の出後に権現湖に向かう登山道を使い、権現山、入道山、小野アルプスを歩こうと思ったのですが‥登山道が荒れ果て進めなかったのが残念でした‥

軽い運動にはちょうど良い。見張らしも素敵。道中、所々に、かつての石積など、歴史を感じる。しかし、小毘沙門岩に通じるショートカットは、なかなかの冒険。
