On Castle Mountain in Kakogawa City, there are remnants of a medieval castle built by the Akamatsu clan. It has high historical value and is attractive with legends such as bamboo bark mats and songs about buried military gold. The hiking trail is well-maintained, and from the top, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Seven Ponds to the north, Gongen Dam to the east, Mount Takamito to the west, and the Harima-Nada Sea to the south. You can also enjoy cherry blossoms and hydrangeas in the spring. It's a valuable spot where you can feel both nature and history.
