Highlights

Point 1

Japan's Highest Hot Springs Facility

Mikurigaike Onsen Japan's Highest Hot Springs Facility
Mikurigaike Onsen is known as Japan's highest natural hot springs, located at an altitude of 2410m. Its greatest charm is undoubtedly its magnificent location, with the majestic mountain range visible from the window creating unforgettable memories. In addition, at the restaurant, you can enjoy the ultimate luxury of drinking beer while admiring the beautiful natural scenery. It's a unique hot springs facility where you can enjoy an extraordinary experience that is hard to come by.
Point 2

The Source is Jigokudani!

Mikurigaike Onsen The Source is Jigokudani!
When you arrive at Murodo Terminal, you may already be enveloped in the smell of sulfur. The source of that smell is "Jigokudani". It is a crater from a steam explosion 10,000 years ago, and gas is constantly emitted from it. It is a central figure in the Tateyama faith, but due to volcanic activity, it is now inaccessible. Mikurigaike Onsen, which flows from the source of Jigokudani, a sacred place that is off-limits, seems to have water that is full of power and is very appreciated.
Point 3

Rich Mineral Springs

Mikurigaike Onsen Rich Mineral Springs
Mikurigaike Onsen is a hot spring with no added water or heat, and the water flows directly from the source. The water is milky white and soft, providing relief for tired bodies after mountain climbing. The spring has a variety of benefits, including relief from neuralgia, muscle pain, joint pain, frozen shoulder, paralysis due to exercise, joint stiffness, sprains, chronic digestive diseases, chronic skin diseases, chronic gynecological diseases, cuts, poor circulation, recovery from illness, fatigue recovery, and health promotion, among others. Please feel the power of Tateyama from the core of your body.
Point 4

High-Quality Dining Menu

At the cafe "Kissa Mikuri," which even day-trip hot spring visitors can easily enter, there is a famous menu item called "Enma-sama's Hot Pizza," which is popular during lunchtime in addition to sweets such as soft serve ice cream. The chewy pizza, which is topped generously with hellish sauce, will fill you up nicely. For overnight guests, elaborate meals are provided that not only include local cuisine but also incorporate plenty of mountain and sea delicacies from Toyama. Many people are pleasantly surprised by the high-quality taste that exceeds their expectations.
Point 5

Exclusive Sunrise Viewing for Hotel Guests

Mikurigaike Onsen Exclusive Sunrise Viewing for Hotel Guests
One of the privileges of being a hotel guest is being able to witness the majestic sunrise from a prime location. Depending on the season, the position where the sun first appears in the sky may vary, so be sure to ask the guide or hotel staff for recommended viewing spots. As Tateyama is located on the east side, it's characteristic for the sun to rise after it becomes bright. If the conditions are right, you may even be able to experience natural phenomena such as the Brocken spectre or sea of clouds.
Point 6

Night Sky Unique to Lodgers

Mikurigaike Onsen Night Sky Unique to Lodgers
The high altitude and clear air of Tateyama make it the perfect place for stargazing. Lodgers, such as those staying at Mikurigaike Onsen, have the privilege of being able to leisurely enjoy stargazing without worrying about time. You can spend a luxurious and romantic moment enjoying the Milky Way and shooting stars that spread across the sky in a quiet space. A star chart is installed in the facility and can be used freely. Why not enjoy the myth of the starry sky that unfolds each season with a star chart in hand?

Access

About a 15-Minute Walk from Murodo Terminal
From Murodo Terminal, take the cable car from Tateyama Station, the last stop on the Toyama Chihou Railway in Tateyama Town, Toyama Prefecture, for about 7 minutes. Then, transfer to a bus at Bijodaira Station and arrive in less than an hour. From there, you can walk to the hot spring facility while enjoying the seasonal scenery of Murodo Plateau. As there may still be snow on the ground in April and May, it's essential to wear shoes and warm clothing that can handle snowy conditions. Be sure to check the weather in advance and take precautions, as there may be blizzards. Also, be aware that there is a possibility of the first snowfall starting in late September, so check the situation in advance. While the facility is maintained, there are many ups and downs and steps, so be careful as trunks and suitcases may be inconvenient.

Overnight stays are available from April to November, but please check the website for detailed dates. This popular accommodation offers special experiences, so early reservations are recommended!
