Hankyuji Temple is the site where Takaoka Yoro-in, founded by Zaisan Zaita, the founder of Kannonji Temple, was established and has historical value. It was built by Rennyo, the eighth generation of Honen-ji Temple, in 1471 during the third year of the Bunmei era. The temple grounds include a monument of a poem by Ootomo Yakamochi and a monument of the Echizen Provincial Office. Hankyuji Temple is located about 20 minutes by car from the center of Takaoka City, and there are tourist spots such as the Himi Fishing Port Market and Ajo Castle in the surrounding area. It is a must-see place for history enthusiasts.
