Enjoy Gourmet Food and Wooden Play Equipment

The "Michi-no-Eki Onneyu Onsen" is symbolized by the world's largest clockwork pigeon clock. Located in the city center, it serves as a relay point connecting the heavy snow areas with Akan, Abashiri, and other areas, offering 24-hour toilets and rest areas. Next to the Michi-no-Eki, "Karakuri Kingdom" offers delicious gourmet food such as soft serve ice cream and light meals made from local specialties. In addition, "Kamuy-rin World" is popular for its wooden play equipment that both adults and children can enjoy.

Meet Adorable Foxes

"Kita Kitsune Bokujo" is a place where you can meet adorable northern foxes, located an 8-minute walk across the Mukagawa River from "Michi no Eki Onneyu Onsen". About 50 foxes are raised in the facility, and each one has a name, making it interesting to observe their individual differences. In addition, raccoons are also raised in the park along with the foxes. Be sure to take pictures of their cute appearances.

Enjoy the Summer Festival

Every August, the "Onneyu Hot Springs Festival" is held in Onneyu Hot Springs, attracting many locals and tourists. The highlight of the festival is the "Mikoshi River Crossing," where about 100 young people carry a portable shrine and walk through the river, soaking themselves up to their waists. It's a manly and exciting sight to see. In addition, the fireworks launched into the night sky and the Niagara Falls made of fireworks that decorate the finale of the festival are also not to be missed.

Enjoy Stunning Views at Lake Onneto

If you have some extra time, why not visit Lake Onneto, located about 2 hours away by car from the hot spring town. The lake, surrounded by primeval forests, has a circumference of 2.5 kilometers and is located at the westernmost end of Akan Mashu National Park. The color of the lake surface changes depending on the season and time of day, and is known as Goshiki-numa or Onneto Blue. It's a highly recommended spot where you can feel the power of nature and relax.

Enjoy Cycling While Taking in the Scenery

The "Onneyu Onsen Tsutsuji Park," a popular spot among locals where you can feel the beauty of nature, offers cycling and forest bathing. With 280,000 Ezo Murasaki Tsutsuji (Azalea) on Tsutsuji Mountain and 3,000 Azalea growing naturally in the park, you can also enjoy flower viewing. In early May every year, the "Onneyu Onsen Tsutsuji Festival" is held, so be sure to participate.

Access

3 hours and 40 minutes by car from Sapporo

If you're traveling by car from Sapporo, the capital of Hokkaido, and using the highway to get to Onneyu Onsen, you can access it in about 3 hours and 40 minutes after crossing the Ishikita Pass. If you're using JR, the nearest station is Rumoi Station. From there, it's a 15-minute drive to the onsen. If you're coming from outside the prefecture, it's a 1 hour and 30 minute drive from Memanbetsu Airport. Considering transportation for sightseeing after arrival, it's recommended to rent a car as the onsen town is located a bit far from the station.

The hot springs at Onneyu Onsen are known as "simple sulfur springs" and are also known as "beauty hot springs" due to their skin-beautifying properties. There are a total of seven hot spring facilities in the hot spring town, and you can enjoy day trips at Hotel Oe Honke and Natural Hot Spring Hotel Tsutsuji-so. At Hotel Oe Honke, you can enjoy carefully selected 100% flowing hot water, as well as an open-air bath with a great sense of openness. The changing scenery of the four seasons seen from the bath is also a recommended point.

旅行会社のツアーで宿泊しました。大浴場がとても広く満足度の高い温泉です。露天風呂から見る星空が綺麗でした。地元の食材を使った食事も大変美味しく、朝のビュッフェではワインもありました。

3回目の訪問。ワンコが泊まれるので、そちら方面では有り難いと思っての宿泊でした。部屋のマットレスは以前に宿泊されたワンコが齧ったのかボロボロで、家のワンコじゃありません！とフロントにご一報させて頂きました。温泉は温根湯温泉だけあって良かったです！夕食は、お隣の国の春節ということもあり、席同士も狭く入場するのも順番を待たされるなど混み合っていましたがバイキング形式で種類は豊富で美味しかったです。朝もバイキング形式ですが1リットルの牛乳パックをカップに注ぐ形での提供で、お隣の国の方は指で注ぎ口を指でこじ開けており、見ているだけでも不快でした。是非、ピッチャーの容器とか、もしくは押せば出るような機械式などにして欲しいです。今回はロビーや廊下にある温根湯温泉や大江本家の歴史などの展示を始め小鳥やマチ子さんの絵を見ることが出来て良かったです。少し大きめのワンコでしたが快く迎えて頂きありがとうございました。また、時期をずらして利用させて頂きたいと思います

北海道銃弾中に宿泊しました。外観は立派でこんなところに泊まれるのかとテンションがあがりました。すぐそこを川が流れているのもロケーションがよかったです。一人でしたがそれなりに広い部屋を用意していただきありがたかったです。温泉も広々しておりサウナも付いており、水風呂もつめたくとても満足しました。ただ、男性用の露天風呂は外から見えるだろうなと思うほど開放的でした笑また、近辺にご飯屋や居酒屋などがなかったのが少し残念でした（昔はあったようですがコロナで閉店したのでしょうか？）。
