Noboribetsu Onsen Enjoy a Variety of Hot Springs!
If you're visiting Noboribetsu Onsen, it's recommended to stay for one or two nights to fully enjoy the over 15 hot spring inns of various sizes that are in operation. At the popular hot spring inn, Daiichi Takimotokan, you can enjoy 35 types of baths using five different hot springs. Additionally, all of the baths are fed by natural hot springs, which is one of the appealing points unique to hot spring areas.

Noboribetsu Jigokudani, located in Noboribetsu Onsen, is a scenic spot with a diameter of about 450 meters, formed by an explosive crater. The exposed rocky terrain on the mountainside is truly like hell itself, giving the valley its name. Located a little ways from the town of Noboribetsu, "Oyunuma River Natural Footbath" is a spot where you can enjoy a natural footbath. Surrounded by forests, it's a healing spot where you can also enjoy forest bathing. Don't forget to bring necessary items such as towels!

Noboribetsu Onsen Meet Cute Bears
The "Noboribetsu Bear Park" in the Noboribetsu hot spring town is popular for breeding about 70 Ezo brown bears. Inside the park, there are facilities where you can experience feeding bears that wave their hands and see the bears up close while humans are inside the cage, which is a powerful experience. In addition, the bear park is located at an altitude of 550 meters on the mountaintop, so the ropeway used when entering is also a point of enjoyment.

Every year, an event is held where the "Yukijin" living in the Jigokudani area of ​​Noboribetsu Onsen Town launch hand-held fireworks to ward off people's bad luck. This event, held on the Jigokudani Observatory stage, is different from normal fireworks as you can see flames up close, making it a powerful spectacle. The performances of the demons are also a highlight, so be sure to enjoy them from the front row.

Access by Rental Car Recommended
If you're traveling by car from New Chitose Airport, the gateway to Hokkaido, to Noboribetsu Onsen, you can get there in about an hour via the Dohoku Expressway. If you're using JR, it's about a 15-minute taxi ride from JR Noboribetsu Station. As the hot spring town is surrounded by mountains, it's recommended to use a rental car to get around and explore the area.

Parking

Numerous Parking Spaces Available!
In the major tourist spots of Noboribetsu Onsen town, there are large parking lots, so there is almost no need to worry about parking spaces. Of course, each hotel has its own parking lot, and even the famous tourist spot in Noboribetsu Onsen, "Jigokudani," has a fully equipped parking lot. The usage fee is 500 yen for a passenger car. It is open year-round and available every day from around 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (5:30 p.m. in the summer).
