Butsudoji has a long history of rise and fall, having suffered from devastation and several fires after the Onin War, and experiencing a slight revival during the time of Ryukage. One of the features of the compound of Futsu-ji Temple is the presence of the towers of Eitoku-in and Shobo-in along the approach, which offer particularly beautiful scenery during the autumn foliage season. Near the large Inumaki tree, there is a bridge called Kyomyo-kyo, which is also a popular spot. One of Japan's Top Zen Training Centers Established by Haruhei Kobayakawa!
Buttsuji Temple is a temple established by Haruhei Kobayakawa in 1397. It was founded with the help of Guju Shuukyuu Zenji and is known as a dojo for Buddhist meditation. It is said that it once had 88 places within the mountain and over 3,000 sub-temples throughout the country. Buttsuji Temple has a row of seven halls and many temple treasures such as the Jizo-do Hall and the statue of Daito Zenji (an important cultural property) painted on silk. There is also a monument to the haiku poet, Shiki Masaoka, on the temple grounds. The temple is surrounded by old cedar trees and is particularly beautiful during the summer's fresh greenery and autumn's fall foliage, attracting many tourists. Buttsuji Temple is a place that combines history and beauty, making it an excellent place for visitors to enjoy Zen training and walking in a quiet environment. It is also an attractive spot for those interested in the temple's cultural assets and historical background!

Access

Access in 15 Minutes by Car from Mihara-Kui IC!
To access Futsu-ji Temple in Mihara City, Hiroshima Prefecture, it takes about 30 minutes by car from JR Mihara Station if using public transportation. Alternatively, take the Geiyo Bus bound for Hongou Station and get off at Futsu-ji Temple after about 40 minutes. It's just a short walk from there (two buses run per day). If using a private car, take Prefectural Route 50 via Mihara-Kui IC on the Sanyo Expressway, and you can arrive at Futsu-ji Temple in about 10 km. The journey takes about 15 minutes.

臨済宗佛通寺派大本山佛通寺。 三原市の山奥にひっそりと佇む西日本最西にある参禅道場。秋の紅葉が有名だが新緑の季節に日光が差し込み建物や木々のコントラストが美しかったです。前を流れる佛通寺川から聞こえる川の音も癒し。人も少なくおすすめです。普通の平日に行ったので見学は境内のみで次は建物の中に入りたいです。

深緑がとても綺麗なお寺です。 紅葉の季節はめちゃくちゃ混みますが、それ以外はそれ程混んではないです。 近くに滝がありますので、仏通寺に行ったなら是非訪れてほしいスポットです。 広島の人にもあまり知られていない穴場スポットですね!

渋滞覚悟で行きましたが駐車場にはすぐに車をとめることができました。 落葉もありましたが紅葉🍁はとても綺麗でした。 下の駐車場から川沿いを散策しながら歩きましたが、歩くから見える景色もあり良かったです。 参拝後法話まで時間があったので駐車場まで降りて近くの紅葉でよもぎそばをいただき、車で上の駐車場まで行き再入場、法話を聞かせていただ来ました。とても勉強になるお話しでした(^^)紅葉の見頃はそろそろ終わりかなという感じだったです。
