Pros:
- Shuttle bus will pick you up at the train station and also take you to sister property
- The staff is amazing, they go above and beyond for you.
- It's a ryokan
- They have onsens
- Gives you access to sister property
- Breakfast and dinner were included
- They gave you bento boxes for lunch
- Delicious food at the Four Seasons restaurant
- Fantastic spa (we got massages and they were awesome!)
- They have yukatas for you to wear.
- They cater to vegetarians. My husband eats anything, I'm a bit picky and told them I wanted a vegetarian meal. They were able to work with that and I had just a great a meal as my husband at the Four Seasons.
- The staff does a turn down service for you where they will set up the beds while you're at dinner. And then put them away when you're eating breakfast.
Cons:
- Everything seemed to shut down from 11AM-2PM - no shuttle bus, no access to onsen, no food, not sure what you're supposed to do during that time. We ended up hanging out in our room.
- They did have some staff members especially at the restaurant that speak English but it was very limited.
What we concluded was we don't think a lot of non-Japanese tourist go to this hotel, which made it even more special for us. They were extremely accommodating and we would definitely go again!
