Iwamura was a thriving castle town during the Edo period. The main street of Iwamura, Iwamura Hontori, gently slopes up towards the ruins of Iwamura Castle from Iwamura Station on the Meiji Railway. There are many specialty shops selling local delicacies such as castella cake, goheimochi, kankara mochi, and local sake breweries, making it the perfect place for foodies to explore.
