Gero Canyon

It is a prefectural designated natural monument with a rock surface formed by lava from approximately 54,000 years ago, stretching for 17km. The powerful scenery, contrasting with the clear stream, is a must-see! You can enjoy the view from the waterfall viewing trail, where the Fudo Myo-o, associated with the famous Buddhist monk Enku, also appears. It's especially recommended for nature lovers and hikers. Located in Gero City's Ganryu Gorge, Nakayama Shichiri is a tourist spot known for its beautiful autumn foliage. The strange rocks and boulders formed by the erosion of the Hida River, combined with the colorful autumn trees, create a breathtaking view. Particularly noteworthy are the Byobu Rock, Rakan Rock, Koko Lake, and Kiba Rock. It's also a place where you can enjoy nature while strolling along the Seiryu Fureai Road. Visit during the autumn season to fully appreciate the deep and rich atmosphere.

"Kei-chan," a B-class gourmet that can be enjoyed in the popular tourist spot of Gero Onsen in the midst of the towering cliffs. It features a light taste made with plenty of chicken and vegetables, and is loved by the locals. This dish, offered by Maruhachi Shokudo, can be enjoyed while admiring the beautiful scenery of the towering cliffs. Local sake and shochu are also abundant, and pickled steak and Meihou ham are also recommended. During peak times, you may have to write your name and wait, but it's worth it!
