豊田産業技術記念館名古屋駅からも歩いて行けるトヨタの歴史と技術を学べる非常に素晴らしい施設です。もともと豊田自動織機の工場だった場所に作られており、その当時の建物も利用されています。施設は主に自動織機と自動車の二つのテーマに分けられており、どちらも動態保存されたものが非常に多く、大変興味深く学ぶことができます。自動織機部門では、綿花から布を作り出す過程を実際の機械を動かして実演してくれます。職員の皆さんが工程ごとに丁寧に機械を動かして実演してくれ、6歳の息子も食い入って各工程を見ていました。大人でもどうやって綿花から糸を撚りだし、綿布を作るのかほとんど知らないと思いますので、かなり面白いですよ。自動車部門はもうまさにトヨタの王道、最初のエンジンA型を生み出すまでの苦闘、その後の躍進まで、女性職員たちが各コーナーで動画や実物を使って説明してくれます。いろんな企業の博物館に行きましたが、ここまで人手とお金をかけた博物館は他に類を見ないですね、さすがトヨタです。館内には軽食を食べられる喫茶店とレストランが入っており、食事も楽しめるようになっています。ムスリムの客が多いからか、祈祷室まで用意されているのには驚きました。あまり小さな子を連れて行くのには適していないと思いますが、小学生以上であればいい刺激になる施設でしょう。大人だけで行けばじっくり時間をかけて日本の経済をけん引した繊維産業、自動車産業について学べるとても素晴らしい施設です。

トヨタグループのものづくりの歴史や日本の繊維産業の発展を学ぶ事が出来ます。機械や材料などに興味がある方はかなり楽しい場所だと思います。中では係の方が要所で解説をしてくれるので理解が深まります。ドニチエコ切符などで入館料が割引に。割引を利用する場合は券売機は利用出来ません窓口で現金を支払う必要があります。例:大人通常1,000円→800円トヨタ博物館ほどではありませんが車の展示もあり、懐かしい車や名車を近くで見学する事が出来ます

紡績の歴史から、自動車会社としての歴史が見学できます。正直、TOYOTAが、紡績から始まったというのは知りませんでした。日本の紡績の歴史を支え、自動車産業の礎となった歴史はとても興味深く面白い施設でした。当時の建物の一部がその歴史を感じさせ、どこもかしこも興味深いものでした。もともと車好きなので、紡績より自動車館のほうが滞在は長かったです。入館料1000円でしたが、それ以上の価値のある施設でした。機会があれば博物館のほうも訪れてみたいと思いました。
