Access

Comfortable Access to Koji Onsen
Access to Koji Onsen is possible by both train and car. For those using the train, please come to Shin-Shirakawa Station on the JR Tohoku Shinkansen or JR Tohoku Main Line. From Shin-Shirakawa Station, you can use a bus or taxi. For those using a car, please proceed on Route 289 from the Shirakawa IC on the Tohoku Expressway. You can comfortably travel on a road surrounded by nature and arrive at your destination in about 40 minutes. Access to Koji Onsen is comfortable by either method.

Parking Information for Koji Onsen
Koji Onsen is easily accessible by car, as parking is available. We have a spacious parking lot that can accommodate up to 30 cars and 2 buses, so groups can use it with peace of mind. However, please don't forget to equip your car with snow tires during the winter season, as the roads may become snowy. Why not try driving to Koji Onsen, which has a fully equipped parking lot?

History

Birth of History and a Secret Hot Spring
The history of Koshi Onsen began in the Shitoku era (1384), when the monk Shuan discovered the sacred site and the secret of the hot springs was passed down to future generations. In 1600, Kikuoka Okuma Motojirou found the hot springs while hunting, and in 1636, the hot springs were developed. The name "Koshi Onsen" comes from the year Kinoene (1384), the year of the rat in the Chinese zodiac. Please come and spend a blissful time at Koshi Onsen, full of history.
