Tachi Onsen

At the Taniuchi Hot Spring, one of Japan's three secret hot springs with a 400-year history, even those who only want to bathe can enjoy a day trip to the hot springs. There are two types of hot springs available: the first is called "Ue no Yu," a white, cloudy 42℃ sulfur spring that is also known as "hot water" and has a simple hot spring (low-residue weakly acidic low-temperature spring) quality. The second is called "Shita no Yu," a 38℃ warm spring that springs up from underfoot and is a colorless, transparent simple sulfur spring of the "hydrogen sulfide type" (low-residue weakly acidic hot spring). The cost is 800 yen per adult, making it a reasonably priced option for a day trip to the hot springs!

At Tanihionsen, there is a free parking lot right next to the facility. In addition to staying at the accommodations, you can also use the day trip hot springs of one of Japan's three secret hot springs, which is said to have a 400-year history. You can use it from 10:00 to 17:00 (last reception at 16:00), so you can stop by on your drive as well!

For access to Tachi Onsen, we recommend using the shuttle service. The shuttle service is reservation-only and can pick you up from three locations: JR Aomori Station, JR Shin-Aomori Station, and JR Hachinohe Station. A round-trip shuttle is available once a day from each location, and it takes about 1 to 1.5 hours to get to Tachi Onsen. In addition, there are also bus services from JR Aomori Station and JR Shin-Aomori Station, which can take you to Tachi Onsen in about 1.5 hours! Parking is also available, so you can visit by car, but if you're staying overnight, we highly recommend using the shuttle service!
