The Komachi-do in Yuzawa City is a vivid scarlet building where you can remember the poet Ono no Komachi from the Heian period. The appearance is modeled after the Phoenix Hall of Byodoin Temple, and during cherry blossom season, it's a charming place where flower rafts float on the pond. It's also a place where Sugawara no Michizane visited, and the Komachi Festival is held here as well. In the garden called Shakuyaku-zuka, you can see that the peonies that Komachi loved were planted. It's recommended for history buffs and literature fans.
