Mt. Samukaze is a 355-meter stratovolcano. It is one of the three mountains of Oga and there are other attractions in the surrounding area, such as Mt. Himegatake and the hidden village of Oni. At the summit, there is a rotating observation deck where you can enjoy a 360-degree view. From the observation deck, you can see the coastline from Akita City to the Oga Peninsula to the south, Mt. Chokai in the distance, Mt. Honzan, the birthplace of Namahage, and Nyudozaki, the highest point on the Oga Peninsula to the west, and the Shirakami Mountains, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, from the port of Noshiro to the north. Additionally, the entire mountain is covered in grass, allowing you to enjoy a panoramic view with a sense of openness. Mt.
