Xu Fu, who was asked by the first emperor of Qin to find the elixir of immortality, drifted ashore in Araisaki, Ine Town. The Araisaki Shrine, where he is enshrined, is revered as a god of maritime safety and fishing, and offers views of the scenery surrounded by black rocks and the islands of Kanmuri and Kutsu. It is a place where gratitude to Xu Fu, who taught various knowledge such as medicine, astronomy, and divination, still lives on.
