The biggest attraction of the Mizugenchi Park is the first stone dam in Tohoku, the "Former Ominato Water Source Waterway Facility." Built in 1909, this facility was used as the water supply facility for Mutsu City until 1976 and was designated as an important cultural property of the country in 2009. In early May, when 160 cherry blossoms bloom, it is crowded with visitors enjoying flower viewing. The park is free to enter and has an area of 6.7 hectares. With its high historical value, please come and visit at least once!
