The Okhotsk Ice Pavilion is located on a small hill with an elevation of 207 meters, allowing you to overlook the scenery of the eastern Hokkaido area, such as the Okhotsk Sea and the Shiretoko mountain range, from the observation deck on the third floor of the building. The changing scenery throughout the seasons, such as the greenery of summer, autumn leaves, and the snowy landscape in winter, is also a highlight. As you can see in all directions for 360 degrees, it is also recommended for commemorative photos.

If you visit the Okhotsk Ryuhyo Museum, be sure to try the "Drift Ice Soft Serve Ice Cream". It is sold at the cafe on the first floor of the museum and is a soft serve ice cream flavored with salt caramel using salt from the Okhotsk Sea. The soft serve ice cream is topped with blue salt colored with natural pigments that resemble drift ice, making it a cute and visually appealing gourmet treat.

The Okhotsk Ryuhyo Museum in Abashiri City, Hokkaido, is located about 10 minutes by car from JR Abashiri Station. If you're coming from outside the area, the nearest airport is Memanbetsu Airport, which is about a 20-minute drive away. The facility has a large parking lot that can accommodate up to 150 cars, so you won't have any trouble finding a parking space even if you visit by car. Additionally, the fact that parking is free is a nice bonus.

Purchase Tickets in Advance on the Web
The entrance fee for the Okhotsk Ryu-hyu Museum is 700 yen for adults, 660 yen for high school students, and 550 yen for elementary and junior high school students. While tickets can be purchased at the facility, it is recommended to purchase them in advance on the web for a smoother process. The purchased tickets can be presented on the day of the visit with just a smartphone, so there is no need for any complicated procedures such as printing.
