The Megami-gotanishi Stones are a feature of the ancient mountain castle ruins, with a series of standing stones extending 3km in length. It is believed to have been constructed around the 7th century and is said to be the site of the residence of Queen Himiko of Yamataikoku. One of the highlights of this place, which exudes a mysterious atmosphere, is the Megami-gotanishi Stones, relics of the era when ancient magic was revered. In addition, there is a historic forest park called "Kaminyadoru Takebayashi" around the Megami-gotanishi Stones, where you can enjoy a peaceful atmosphere. Access is approximately 50 minutes by bus from JR Kurume Station, followed by a 10-minute walk from the "Megami-gotanishi Entrance" bus stop. Admission is free, and it is open year-round.
