Furepe Falls, located on the Shiretoko Peninsula in Hokkaido, is a waterfall of clear water flowing from a crevice in a cliff about 100 meters high, and is also known as "Maiden's Tears". It is one of the highlights of the cruise sightseeing that can be seen from the sea by sightseeing boat, and from the Shiretoko Nature Center, you can walk about 20 minutes on a promenade through the primeval forest to the observation deck on the cliff of the waterfall. In winter, there are also snowshoe tours where you can enjoy the sight of Furepe Falls turning into an ice waterfall. There are also many nature-rich tourist spots in the surrounding area, such as the Shiretoko Five Lakes and Kamuiwakka Falls. Be sure to check the weather forecast before visiting.
