Telescope for Viewing World Heritage Sites

The Kyoto Tower Observation Deck is a rare spot in Kyoto where you can see the city from above, as there aren't many tall buildings. When you visit the observation deck, be sure to check out the telescope. The telescope is installed around the observation deck, allowing you to view your favorite direction, such as Yasaka Shrine, Kiyomizu Temple, and Osaka. This is a shrine where the mascot character of Kyoto Tower, "Tawawa-chan," is enshrined. There are sacred objects, ema (votive tablets), and omikuji (fortunes) featuring Tawawa-chan. The ema and omikuji exclusive to Tawawa-chan Shrine have cute designs and are recommended as souvenirs of your visit. If you stop by and pray when you go up to the observation deck, you may be able to receive blessings of happiness and health.

Lighting Up in Special Colors

One of the highlights of Kyoto Tower is the occasional lighting up in special colors. Normally, it is illuminated in white from sunset to midnight, but during awareness campaign periods such as Pink Ribbon or Orange Ribbon, the color of the lighting changes. You can check the lighting time and color on the official website, so you can enjoy the lighting by knowing "what day it is today".
