This is an observation tower that stands 131m above ground right next to Kyoto Station. In 2017, the commercial facility Kyoto Tower Sand opened inside the tower. Not only can you enjoy the view from the observation deck, but you can also enjoy dining and shopping at the restaurants.

Point 1

Telescope for Viewing World Heritage Sites

The Kyoto Tower Observation Deck is a rare spot in Kyoto where you can see the city from above, as there aren't many tall buildings. When you visit the observation deck, be sure to check out the telescope. The telescope is installed around the observation deck, allowing you to view your favorite direction, such as Yasaka Shrine, Kiyomizu Temple, and Osaka. On clear days, you may even be able to see Abeno Harukas. Take your time and enjoy the view of Kyoto from 100 meters above ground.

A Shop Area with Plenty of Kyoto Souvenirs

For those who are unsure about what souvenirs to choose, why not stop by the souvenir area on the first floor of Kyoto Tower? While buying souvenirs at the station is also a classic course for a Kyoto trip, the souvenir corner at Kyoto Tower also has a wide selection. There are 21 souvenir shops in total, centered around famous Kyoto stores such as "Kyoto Kitayama Maru Blanch" and "Kyoto Baam". It's a must-visit spot for those who want to buy representative souvenirs of Kyoto or want to see multiple shops at once!

Hotel located directly beneath Kyoto Tower

The "Kyoto Tower Hotel" is located on the 8th floor of the Kyoto Tower Building. Special plans are available, such as accommodation plans that offer ceramic art experiences at historic pottery studios in Kyoto, and collaboration accommodation plans with anime set in Kyoto. Access from Kyoto Station is excellent, and there are a variety of services available, such as laundry and delivery services. Why not stay here as a base for sightseeing at the tower?

Tawawa-chan Shrine

This is a shrine where the mascot character of Kyoto Tower, "Tawawa-chan," is enshrined. There are sacred objects, ema (votive tablets), and omikuji (fortunes) featuring Tawawa-chan. The ema and omikuji exclusive to Tawawa-chan Shrine have cute designs and are recommended as souvenirs of your visit. If you stop by and pray when you go up to the observation deck, you may be able to receive blessings of happiness and health.

Lighting Up in Special Colors

One of the highlights of Kyoto Tower is the occasional lighting up in special colors. Normally, it is illuminated in white from sunset to midnight, but during awareness campaign periods such as Pink Ribbon or Orange Ribbon, the color of the lighting changes. You can check the lighting time and color on the official website, so you can enjoy the lighting by knowing "what day it is today".

The admission fee for the Kyoto Tower observation deck is 800 yen for adults and 550 yen for children. For those who plan to visit Kyoto Tower multiple times, an annual passport is available. It comes with benefits such as a 10% discount at the restaurant and costs 3000 yen. There are also set tickets available with nearby attractions such as the Kyoto Aquarium, Railway Museum, and Toei Kyoto Studio Park. Enjoy a Meal Directly Below the Kyoto Tower Observatory

Why not enjoy a meal at a restaurant before or after visiting the Kyoto Tower Observatory? There are two dining options available: the buffet restaurant "Tower Terrace" for breakfast and lunch, and the cafe bar "Sky Lounge 'KUU'" from the evening. Especially at the cafe bar "Sky Lounge 'KUU'", you can enjoy the night view of Kyoto and cocktails from the glass-walled interior, making it a surefire way to lift your mood.

R6年8月のお盆休みに行きました。中学の修学旅行以来です。トロッコ亀岡からトロッコ列車を楽しみ、嵐電で阪急大宮まで行き烏丸まで阪急を一駅だけ乗って地下鉄で京都駅まで…なかなかのツアーでした(^^) 関西に住んでいながらなかなか行く機会もなく少し時間がとれるようになったので夫婦で行きました。入館料は大人800円です。Paypayやメルペイも使えます。エレベーターで展望台に上ると360°京都市内が一望できます。無料で使える望遠鏡が人気でスマホのカメラレンズを覗くところに着けて望遠レンズのようにしてる方もおられました。京都駅からは地上や地下街から直接アクセス可能です。古都京都らしい施しのされたエレベーターで展望台まで上がります。新幹線・JR京都駅はもちろん、各寺院・神社・五山までも見る事が出来ます。「響けユーフォニアム」とのコラボもやっていました。地下の飲食街はほぼほぼ満席なので京都駅方面でお食事されるのがいいかもしれませんね。また機会が有れば行ってみたと思います。

タワー巡りで訪問。京都駅の目の前です。　地下街から直接アクセス可能です。京都には何度も訪れていますが、京都タワーは外から眺めていたのみで初めて登りました。チケットは大人1名700円でした。レトロな不思議な雰囲気のエレベーターで展望台まで上がります。タワー自体はそれほど高くはないのですが、京都には周囲に高い建物がほとんどないので360度展望が出来ます。新幹線・JR京都駅はもちろん、二条城、金閣寺まで見る事が出来ます。望遠鏡も多数設置されています。　全て無料で見られます。近所の個人宅の窓まで見ることが出来ますので、使用・扱いにはご注意下さい(笑）思いのほか楽しめました。

何年ぶりでしょうか? また、行けて良かったです。夕日が沈む時間、鮮やかでした。双眼鏡も無料で、大阪の街も見えました。京都の街を見晴らせ、素晴らしい景色でした。三連休の初日、待つことも無く、スムーズに案内して頂きました。事前にチケット購入したのですが、1階と3階にチケット購入場所があるので、当日でも大丈夫かと思います。 1階のスイーツの数々、京都の魅力、堪能出来ます。夜景を見たかったのですが、降りて来ました。残念。でも、また、新たな、タワーを見られました。
