Kasai Rinkai Aquarium, where you can meet fish from around the world!

At Kasai Rinkai Aquarium, you can encounter over 600 species of fish from around the world. You can get up close to powerful creatures such as penguins that move around in the largest penguin exhibit in Japan, and bluefin tuna swimming in a huge dome-shaped tank!

Point 1

A Large Glass Dome Floating Against the Backdrop of Tokyo Bay

The first thing you'll notice when visiting Kasai Rinkai Park is this unique glass dome. Designed by architect Yoshio Taniguchi, who also designed GINZA SIX, the beautiful design features reflections of sunlight that sparkle like the surface of the sea. With the glass dome as your backdrop, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Tokyo Bay, making it a recommended spot for commemorative photos. In the evening, the glass dome is lit up, creating a romantic atmosphere.

Astonishing View of a School of Tuna Swimming in a Large Tank

In the donut-shaped tank, you can observe a school of tuna swimming around. Katsushika Aquarium is the only place in Japan where you can see a permanent exhibition of swimming tuna. The tuna, which on average measure 2.5 to 3 meters in length, swim quickly right in front of you, creating a more powerful experience than you can imagine! There are benches in this area, so you can sit back and enjoy the view at your leisure.

Japan's Largest Penguin Exhibit

In the penguin habitat area, you can observe adorable penguins both on land and in the water. The rock formations, which are recreated to look like the real thing, are sure to soothe you as you watch the penguins waddle around or leisurely swim underwater. The penguin exhibit at the Kasai Rinkai Aquarium is the largest in Japan and houses various species of penguins. In particular, the Fairy Penguin is said to be the smallest penguin in the world and remains a popular favorite due to its baby-like size even when fully grown.

Experience Interacting with Sea Creatures

At the seashore creature area, you can observe and interact with creatures such as sea urchins and crabs. Children will surely be thrilled by the experience of placing them on their palms and gently stroking them, which they can't normally do. From 1:30 pm and 2 pm, there is a 20-minute guided tour by staff, so if you visit at the right time, you can have a more fulfilling time.

At Kasai Rinkai Aquarium, there are two gift shops and one restaurant where families can enjoy souvenir shopping and meals. The gift shop "Aquamarine" on the second floor of the building offers a wide range of interior goods and souvenir sweets, including fish stuffed animals. You can find the perfect souvenir to remember your visit to the aquarium. The restaurant "Sea Wind" offers a wide range of menu items, mainly seafood such as tuna cutlet curry, in a self-service style. Why not enjoy lunch after visiting the aquarium?

Parking

Convenient Parking Right off the Kasai IC Exit!

Since there is no parking lot within the aquarium, it is necessary to use the nearby Kasai Rinkai Park parking lot. It is recommended to use the Kasai Rinkai Park No.1 parking lot, located right next to the Kasai Rinkai Park Station on the Keiyo Line. It is excellent access as it is located right off the Kasai IC on the Metropolitan Expressway Bayshore Route! However, during the holiday season, the parking lot can be very crowded and there is a possibility of waiting for a long time, so it is best to use public transportation as much as possible.
