The former Okamoto residence in Otsu City was a historical legacy of officials who supported Mt. Hiei's Enryaku-ji Temple. Despite undergoing internal renovations, the main house, rice storehouse, and horse stable, which retain their original appearance, have been beautifully preserved. The old kitchen stove remains on the earthen floor, allowing visitors to imagine what life was like back then. Why not take a trip and experience the Edo period atmosphere felt in this area, which existed without direct control from the Tokugawa shogunate?
