Lake Kawaguchi is a beautiful spot for an extraordinary day trip that can be reached from Tokyo. You can access it by train or highway bus. From Shinjuku Station, take the JR Chuo Line Limited Express to Otsuki Station, then transfer to the Fujikyu Line Limited Express and arrive at Kawaguchiko Station in about 50 minutes. Highway buses also depart from Shinjuku Station, Tokyo Station-Ichigao Station, Yokohama Station, Nagoya, and other locations. From Kawaguchiko Station, it's about a 5-minute drive from the "Kawaguchiko IC" on the Chuo Expressway. It's recommended to check the detailed schedules and fares on the official websites of each transportation company in advance.
