まさに秘湯という風情。環境も温泉力も、維持してくれている運営さんたちのおかげで保たれている。あったかい心の伝わる場所です。しかし秘湯とはいえ9:30頃から大型バスが乗り入れて賑わっています。 (私が聞いたときは火曜日の午前にお風呂の清掃をしたそうです。日帰り行かれる時は営業時間を気をつけて）今回は連泊で3号館に泊まりました。一般的な温泉ホテルに慣れてる人からすればTVは無いですし驚くかもしれません。ですが風情を楽しみたい人には充分と思います。 Wi-Fiも通っています。（でも去年泊まった時、ルーターから遠い部屋では届かなかった。（docomo））素晴らしい温泉を堪能したい方には落ち着いて入浴できる宿泊がおすすめです。夜は混浴の大きな露天風呂でもかなり入りやすいですよ。宿泊者専用貸切風呂も、小さな湯船なりの良さがあります。私にはぬるめの女性専用の大露天風呂が1番好みの温度でした。ご飯も連泊した2日目は朝晩とも違ったメニューを出してくれますし、スタッフさんのおもてなしが感じられる。ずっと続いて欲しいなと訪れる度に願ってしまう宿です。

有名な混浴露天風呂は圧巻でした！全体的に垣根に囲まれていて配慮もなされており、ちょうど岩に囲まれて周りから見えにくい位置に女性専用のスペースもあり、それでいて奥へ行くと広々としているので解放感もあり素敵な空間でした。お風呂がいくつかあり、最初は脱衣場の場所が分かりにくかったのが難点でしたが。短い橋を渡ると正面に内湯、左側に女性専用露天風呂があります。右側には、少し歩くと木々に囲まれた有名な混浴露天風呂があり、その脇を通って突き当たりに進むと一番奥に女性用脱衣場があり、そちらにも女性専用の内湯と露天があります。女性側から混浴露天にも無理なく出て行けるようになっており、入る際は露天に出てすぐ目の前にお湯があるのですぐに浸かって肩まで浸かったまま進んでいけるので、男性側から見られずに混浴エリアへ行けるので、混浴の難易度が低く、女性にとって入りやすいようになっていてありがたかったです。男性専用の露天はないとのことで、男性用の露天は混浴露天のみだったので、そこに居た主人と息子と合流して一緒にお湯を楽しめたのは良い思い出になりました。お湯が白いので一度浸かってしまえば周りの人からも見えないので入りやすかったです。お湯もトロトロとしていて、肌に優しい感じで心地良かったです。

初乳頭温泉！行くまでの道のりはなかなか。田沢湖駅からもなにげに距離あり。バスよりレンタカーのほうが時間気にせず良いかと。洗い場はなく石鹸が置いてあるのみ。ホントにお湯に浸かるのみを目的としてる感じ。お湯は硫黄の匂いが強くトロミ白濁で最高だったけど、ちょうど人が多い時間だったので、狭い脱衣所は混雑。皆さんサッと入ってサッと出ていく感じだったのでそんなに気にはならなかったけど、まだ若い娘にはキョーレツだったらしい笑｢シャワーないの？！｣やら、｢化粧ができない！｣やら、やかましかった。流石に混浴は入らなかったけど、女湯だけでも十分楽しめました。汗切れもよく、ポカポカも続く良い温泉だと思いました！
