Ryukoin in Uwajima City is well-known as a strict training dojo and is designated as one of the Shikoku 88 temples. The temple grounds feature a hall dedicated to Kobo Daishi and a monument to Basho, allowing visitors to experience history and culture. It's also known as the temple where the Date family, who received 100 koku of rice, prayed. There are many attractions to see, such as the Mini Shikoku 108 stone statues and the white granite Daikannon statue, which is the largest in western Japan. You can also spend a peaceful time in the main hall, which is located at the top of the 111 stone steps.
