The temple of Enmei-ji is one of the 88 temples on the Shikoku Pilgrimage.
No. 54 Enmeiji Temple is a temple located in a rural landscape west of Imabari. Originally, it was located on the summit of Konmiyama, which is further west than it is now. The mountain gate is said to have been the gate of Imabari Castle. The bell named Konmi Jiro, which was cast in the first year of the Ho'ei era (1704), is inscribed with the history of the temple around the bell, which has been designated as a tangible cultural property of Imabari City, and the bell rings once a year on New Year's Eve.
