The approximately 8km coastline, including Karato Beach, is a beautiful white sand and green pine tree beach that has been selected as one of "Japan's Top 100 Beaches". In the summer, it becomes the most popular beach in Imabari, bustling with young people and popular for marine sports. The red lighthouse in the photo used to be located in the Kurushima Strait.
