Access

Approximately 11km Trekking Course
To access Jomon Sugi by public transportation, take a bus for about 40 minutes to Yakusugi Nature Museum, then transfer to a private shuttle bus for about 35 minutes to arrive at Arakawa Trailhead. If using a private car, it's about a 23km, 40-minute drive from Yakushima Miyanoura Port to Yakusugi Nature Museum, then transfer to a shuttle bus for about 35 minutes to arrive at Arakawa Trailhead. Note that general vehicles are not allowed to enter the trailhead. To see Jomon Sugi, you'll need to walk an 11km trekking course from Arakawa Trailhead, so it's recommended to plan your climb carefully and prepare appropriate equipment.
