Hukubu Kannon

Fukui Kannon Temple has a legend that tells of a greedy old woman who was transformed into a cow and then repented. From this legend, Fukui Kannon Temple is also known as a temple to stop by on the way to Zenkoji Temple. Many wooden and stone statues are installed along the approach, watching over the visitors. By visiting Fukui Kannon Temple, which is counted as one of the leading power spots in Nagano Prefecture, along with Zenkoji Temple, you may feel a deeper sense of historical atmosphere and receive blessings.

There are many natural spots around the Hukubu Kannon Temple. There are scenic spots typical of Komoro, such as the Hukubu Valley and the Hyofu Cave, as well as historical spots such as the Komoro Castle Ruins Kaitokuen and the Kitaguni Kaido Komoro-juku. At Hieizan Enryakuji Temple, Goshuin and Omamori are sold and are popular among many visitors. At the Goshuin window, you may also encounter a signboard cat watching over the worshippers. Additionally, if you have your Goshuin written at the office, you will also receive a piece of paper with the word "fortune" written on it. Since it takes some time to have your Goshuin written, it is recommended to visit the office first before worshipping.
