Takao-san is a mountain that can be reached in about an hour from Shinjuku. It is 599 meters high and can be climbed in about an hour and a half from the foot of the mountain. There is also a cable car and lift up to the middle of the mountain, so families with small children can enjoy it with peace of mind. Route 1, also known as the "Omotesando" course, which is a course for visiting Yakuo-in, is a perfect hiking course for beginners. Wheelchair users can take the elevator installed at Takaosanguchi Station to get on the cable car.
