The Nakano Ward Historical Folk Museum exhibits materials related to the history and culture of Nakano Ward. Exhibits include materials related to the history, culture, and folklore of Nakano Ward from the Edo period to the Showa period, as well as personal effects of famous people from Nakano Ward and traditional crafts from the area. There are also regularly changing special exhibitions. Descriptions of the exhibits are available in multiple languages, including Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean. Admission is free, and the museum is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (entry until 4:30 pm). The museum is closed on Mondays and the third Sunday of each month. Photography is not allowed inside the exhibition rooms, but you can freely take pictures of the exterior and gardens. Wheelchairs and strollers are available for loan inside the exhibition rooms. There is also a gift shop where you can purchase traditional crafts and souvenirs from Nakano Ward.
